Be aware of using meta tags as they certainly don’t have the kind of effect on SEO they used to. If you do employ meta keyphrases, make sure the words appear on the page they are listed on. Make sure to include a meta description as Google uses this for its own search engine listings.
Internal linking is vital and using keyphrases in the anchor text is an excellent SEO method. If you can’t link in your primary navigation you can always use the footer. If you use Flash, always make sure you include hard links as Flash isn’t read by Google. If there is content you don’t specifically want the whole internet to see, then use robots.txt as follows:
User-agent: *
Disallow: /
This tells spiders not to list certain pages, folders and documents.
